Fundraising Fashion Show Featuring Survivor Models to be Held Oct. 2 in Norwalk
In these uncertain times, it is more important than ever to take time every day to celebrate the joys of life.
With that thought in mind, the Breast Cancer Survival Center (BCSC) will present its sixth annual Celebrate Life! fashion show and brunch on Sunday, October 2, at 11:30 a.m. at Shore and Country Club in East Norwalk.
The Breast Cancer Survival Center is the only program in Connecticut devoted exclusively to post-treatment issues for breast cancer survivors and their families, and operates at facilities generously donated by Norwalk Community College. Nationally, institutions such as the Lance Armstrong Foundation the National Cancer Institute now recognize the important of providing information and education for cancer survivors after their treatment has ended.
This fundraiser helps to provide survivors? group meetings, weekend retreats, events for families of survivors and this year a first meeting for mothers of breast cancer survivors. The BCSC also organizes October candle lighting ceremonies in Westport, Milford and West Hartford to remember those who have been affected by breast cancer.
All the beautiful superstar models will be survivors of cancer, and Talbots in Westport will once again be providing the clothes for the event.
The models will be escorted by handsome male models from the Gedney Agency in Fairfield.
The event will also include raffles, and guests will have the opportunity to shop at the Sock It To Breast Cancer TM boutique.
Information on sponsorship opportunities for this unique and very special event is available by contacting BCSC at 203-857-7304, cancersurvival@aol.com, or through our web site, www.breastcancersurvival.org.
