Young Survivors Day To Be Held April 30 in Norwalk

The Breast Cancer Survival Center (BCSC), which provides post-treatment education and support for breast cancer survivors and their families, will host a one-day event for young survivors on Saturday, April 30, at St. Paul’s Church on the Green, Norwalk, CT.  The day will include supportive discussions, music, and an outdoor walking meditation in St. Paul’s Labyrinth and Healing Garden.

“The issues of younger survivors are frequently different from women who are diagnosed in their 50s and 60s,” said Nina Marino of Norwalk, BCSC Clinical Director, who is facilitating the event along with Lee Fallet of Fairfield, BCSC Assistant Clinical Director, and Evelyn Avoglia of Stamford, who regularly conducts workshops on Sound Healing and Sprituality.

“Young survivors may be concerned with fertility issues, early menopause due to their cancer diagnosis and treatment, how to talk to their children and parents about their cancer diagnosis, intimacy issues, etc.  This day will promote self-discovery and personal growth in a caring, sharing, confidential atmosphere.”

Registration for this event, at $35 per person (includes continental breakfast and lunch), is encouraged before April 23 to ensure a place.   BCSC is grateful to the Westport Young Woman’s League, which has provided support for the event.

For a registration form, or for further information, call (203) 857-7304, e-mail BCSC at cancersurvival.org, or log onto the BCSC web site, www.breastcancersurvival.org.
